And so its been a while since my last posting - what can I say, my assistant is a slacker??  Anyway, yours truly finally hit the open road and it was off to Cincinnati for a whirlwind overnight stay at the Westin - and a bark out to the great folks who made my stay extra comfy (as you can see)

and then there was the night life - who else but yours truly and my assistant in front of the fountain in Fountain Square -

... and to think this was all in one night!!  And, then it was off to Hyde Park Square this morning -

Ok, so I wasn't so excited about having to sit for the pic.....I mean really, there are trees to check out, other dogs to greet and shops to check out!  And speaking of shops, whatdaya think?  Definitely says "one totally cool pup!"

And, with all great times, it came time to finally say "see ya, later" and back home we go.....

Tidbit for the Day - Always remember to pace yourself, even when it's a whirlwind overnight/day trip!

WOW, times flies

Happy 4th of July!

Here's to a great 4th!  Could have done without the bath and grooming, but the field trip to PetSmart was worth it!  Still trying to get that pesky hamster and guinea pig to play.....oh well.  And, I'm sporting a new tag with my name in big letters on it!

Alright Friday.....

finally.....afternoon lunch at Panera.  As always, tasty tuna on the menu.  Then, of course, the adoring fans and even a little Maltese by the name of "Erin" showed up.


And, a "shout out" to my assistant's friends Amy and Theresa!  It was great meeting you two.  Sorry you missed me in my shades so you could see how really cool this Super Pup can be!

Howdy!!!

yep it's me....bet you thought I was taking a vaca (wishful thinking!)  Nope, my assistant has been a slacker.....oh she'd tell you she's been really busy with the day job, but somehow she found time to go see Toy Story 3 (and without me....can you believe it???)  I mean Slinky Dog, (I just call him "Slink" for short) and I go way back....at least as far as our tails!

...and as you can see his tail goes waaaaayyyyyy back!  Well, anyway, here's to more posts soon!

Thanks to an always top-notch group at Smith & Wollensky's for making my dad's meal great!  Even though I couldn't be there, I heard a good time was had by all.

Laying Low and Keeping Cool (take 2)....

well my trusty assistant is home today with a migraine - not sure what it is, but the house is dark almost like a cave as she makes her way from one window to the next closing the curtains.  Just as well since the temp is rising outside which means back to wearing the dreaded "cooling vest."


Tidbit for the Day - I vote for moving to a nice tropical place; Hawaii works for me!

Yet, I think this pose is more me - learning how to "hang 20!"   ; )

House Guests......

wow, talk about a busy day - first thing this morning on my walk found a couple of my buddies running around the neighborhood - Buckley (he's a beagle) and Jones (he has a curly tail) without their human.  So my assistant and I provided refuge until their human came to pick them up.


Then, my assistant comes back from another graduation party (just down the street) with my buddy Boomer.  Seems he wasn't involved in the festivities so he got to come over and hang out for a while.


He went wild running around in the backyard, thought that the cats were for him to chase, and even got dinner!  Eventually though, it was time for him to mosey back home.


Tidbit for the Day - House guests are fun, but now I'm ready to kick back and relax!  Assistant, my pillow please.  ; )

My latest Travel Adventure

was to Mt. Vernon for a graduation party on Saturday.  Not sure what a graduation party was, but that's part of the adventure!


So, I show up, and from what I could figure out, it was something to let the bigger kids play like little kids and for everyone to have lots of yummy food!  Definitely a 2 Paws event!


Hmmm, so where's my plate of yummy morsels????


Tidbit for the Day - If your assistant doesn't bring you a plate of yummy morsels, then work the crowd!

My Adoring Fans....

gotta love the Friday lunch dates at Panera!  All I have to do is just show up and the "oooing" and "he's so cute" greet me before I even get to my al fresco seat!  Hiya ladies!!!!  ; )


Huh, whatdaya mean we're done with our afternoon lunch?  It can't be time to go already?  No, you can't make me leave!!  This SuperPup is standing his ground....big mistake, easier for my assistant to scoop me up!  Rats!

Put another Kabob on the Bar-b-q.....

yessiree, nothing like a cook-out!  Let's see, on the menu - shish kabob (all I know is that it's meat and veggies - hold the veggies on mine), ok if you have to serve the kabob over rice I guess I can live with it, and salad (geez, more veggies!)


Tidbit for the Day - If you taste test your kabob before it goes on the grill, then it's a sure guarantee that one will be yours!

Ice cream & Frosty Paws Run...

just gotta love 'em!!!  Of course that is when the place is actually open so the humans can get their ice cream.  As for yours truly, never fear, my assistant brought along my Frosty Paws so I could join in the ice cream social.....which ended up being back at home since the ice cream place still isn't open yet!  : (


Tidbit for the Day - Whenever you get the chance, make sure to let your ears fly with the breeze as you're riding in the car!  Just watch out for any oncoming bugs though!  (Doggles, hhmmm, now which color should I go with??)

seems my assistant has been rather busy this week which means slacking on my blog!  Priorities I say!  Well anyway, Friday afternoon was a nice quiet lunch at home - a sampling of tuna (2 paws) and then a lazy afternoon snooze for all (definitely 2 paws!)

so I'm sitting there on the couch working the new lesson learned "big brown eyes" with "cute smile" and in return I get a sunflower seed!  Bird food!!!!   Hmmmm, on second thought ..... not too bad.

Saturday Fun Day....

means field trip first to PetSmart - talk about lots of new friends to check out and then off to Pet People and more adoring fans.  And what was on the list?

1. Yummy food - check

2. Super Dog training treats - check (mind you got the training down but will never turn down a good treat ; ) 

3. Glucosamine treats - check (every Super Dog knows you have to make sure to stay limber!)

4. And possibly most important of all, all-natural chew sticks - what a way to have to brush the 'ol teeth!

Tidbit for the Day - Afternoon movie at home definitely a great way to totally chill.  That Dug on Up is hilarious - hmm, wonder what my voice would sound like with one of those talking collars??

Taking Notes......

on Bolt's different moves, especially when dealing with Mittens (pesky cat)! Just like Bolt, my assistant is one of MY most important humans.  Now you wouldn't find me jumping from a moving vehicle, but using the "begging, big brown eyes" now that's definitely a keeper!

Just Call Me "Mr. Invincible"

or at least when I run out to protect my domain (my backyard).  Ok, so there's a fence all the way around the yard, but still it doesn't stop those pesky squirrels, rabbits and occasional possum from wandering in.  Yep, we even had a possum visit a while back - not as much fun as the squirrels though.

Tidbit for the Day - Always make sure to give a healthy "I'm here" bark when out in the yard.  Hey, I may be furry and have adorable brown eyes, but never forget I'm a true force to be reckoned with - you pesky squirrels!

Gotta Love Friday lunches....

and today's lunch destination - Panera.  Nothing like sitting outside (not to mention that I can't go inside) and enjoying a tasty morsel along the patio area.  And let us not forget all the adoring patrons who just had to give me lots of attention!  Yes, today's lunch was definitely a 2 Paws all the way around!


Tidbit for the Day - Showing how well mannered one can be out in public is a sure guarantee for lots of praise and pets (at least it is for us canines.)

Friday's Good Deed for the Day

Today I earned my "Good Samaritan" badge from Pup Scouts.  The little girl down the street always has mom waiting to help her get off the bus - well, today I was there too!  Yep, walked right up next to the bottom step of the bus and stood there while she got off - you know, just in case she needed something soft to lean on.  A smile, a wag and then off for more adventures.


Tidbit for the Day - Always a good idea when helping others to make sure they are close to the same size as you or else you could end up squished!  ; )

Thursday night

and laying next to the popcorn bowl on the bed.....ah, life doesn't get much better than this!  Of course, the little morsels of popcorn are well-deserved since my assistant slipped me an Omega-3 this evening (mixed in some mashed potatoes so I wouldn't notice - nice try, but still noticed), which was then followed by brushing my teeth with the electric tooth brush, again!


I tell ya, how much is one suppose to be subjected to in one evening???!!!


Tidbit for the Day - Make sure to let your humans know how much you deserve an extra special treat after getting your teeth brushed.  Ok, so you just got your teeth brushed, but they weren't going to stay clean forever!

Just back....

from my evening walk.  Besides enjoying the cooler weather, there were lots of other furry friends out and about.  


There were the two-by-two that makes it look like dogs on parade, then there were two Huskies on separate flexi leads - luckily their human didn't get wrapped up as they were going different directions, a 12-wk old chocolate lab who was the same size as me (at least for today), and some wire-haired dude that kept barking at me so naturally I had to bark back!


Didn't see my usual buddies Abby, Boomer, Griffin or Toby but there's always tomorrow.


Tidbit for the Day - As the weather gets nicer, make sure to get out for more walks so you can visit your friends!  Besides, it's good for your humans, as well!   ; )

Now That's What I'm Talkin' About!!!

Yes, Friday afternoon and lunch at Blocks (tuna on rye - 1 paw), doting passerbys (2 paws), and then a quick stop at the dog park on the way home (1-1/2 paws).  Would have been 2 paws but when a big towering four-legged "Jaws" comes after you, never good!  Humpf!  So I walk away and he/she gets scolded - serves 'em right! Ah man, do I have to get a bath when I get home?!  Ok, not exactly my idea of how to close out the afternoon, but definitely cooled off.


Tidbit for the Day - Make sure to stay cool when a four-legged "Jaws" comes at you, that way you get lots of praise and hugs while "Jaws" gets in big trouble (and in public besides - even more embarrassing!)

Isn't it the Weekend Yet??

Ok, I know it's Thursday night, but geez it's taking a long time for the weekend to get here!  I mean really - there are pet trails to hike, field trips to the pet store and sleeping in late!!!


Tidbit for the Day - Always be prepared for the trip to the pet store.  You never know what great tasting goodies you'll find, as well as new friends.  Me personally, I love barking at the mice, hamsters and those fuzzy pig things.

seems my assistant is rather tired this evening - worked late last night and then up early for more of the same.  So, other than getting lots of cuddle time this evening, grooming and a nice long walk, it's rest and beauty sleep.

Wishing for Vacation!

My last real travel adventure - Tennessee - here I am visiting the Grand Ole Opry House (or more like the outside of it)

 and also checked out the Gibson store (the cool floor, now that was pretty awesome, the other stuff so-so.)

My favorite though, the cabin in the Smoky Mountains - sitting outside listening to the stream.  Yep life doesn't get much better except for the hikes in the mountains during the day.

So, I'm ready to head out for my next travel adventure...if only I can convince my assistant that it's time!!!

Ah, Sunday!

Nothing like kickin' back, relaxin' and just being lazy!!!!  Not quite sure what the cats see in stretching out on the arm rest, but I'm willing to give it a try.  Ok, so where's the popcorn and dog biscuits? What movie are we watching - Toy Story, Bug's Life?  Hey I know, how about Shaggy Dog? That Tim Allen guy did a pretty good job being a dog, I mean, you know especially for being a human!  ; )


Tidbit for the Day - Always make sure you have all the snacks ready ahead of time - that way you don't have to "paws" the movie.  (Sorry, couldn't resist a little canine humor.)
